Financial institution Public Bank revisits the legacy of the late Tan Sri Teh Hong Piow, the company’s founder and chairman emeritus, a year after his passing.

The commemoration at Menara Public Bank hailed him as a trailblazer who played a pivotal role in shaping the banking industry of Malaysia.

In 1966, he laid the foundation for Public Bank, which has gone on to contribute significantly to nation-building efforts in Malaysia and also impacted communities across the region where Public Bank has established its presence.

During the commemoration, Public Bank managing director and chief executive officer Tan Sri Dr Tay Ah Lek spoke on the impact his late mentor had on the banking industry and the wider community.

“People are inspired by passionate leaders who believe in them,” he said in a statement.
